Summary
Planily (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides a family planning app for iOS and Android. We collect the minimum personal data needed to operate the app (account and household data), use approximate location only for analytics, do not run ads, and do not do marketing. Data are stored in the EU. You can request access, export, or deletion at any time by emailing planilyapps@gmail.com.

2. Scope and services
This policy covers the Planily mobile applications for iOS and Android (the “Service”). Core features include calendar/events, shared lists, push notifications, app analytics, and crash reporting.
3. Data we collect
Account and profile data

- Password (hashed and managed by our authentication provider)

- Family/household name, members, and roles you define
App content you provide
- Events (titles, times, notes you add)
- Lists and list items (e.g., groceries, tasks)

- Device and app information (device model, OS version, app version)
- IP address and general diagnostics/logs
- Push notification tokens
- Approximate location (only for analytics, not for live location features)
We do not collect
- Contacts/address book
- Precise location for live tracking
- Payment and billing data (no payments yet)
- Children's accounts or child profiles
4. Sources of data
- Directly from you when you create an account, set up a household, add events and lists, and use the app.
- Automatically from your device for security, analytics, crash reporting, and push notifications.
- No imports from third-party services at this time.
5. How and why we use your data (GDPR legal bases)
- Provide and operate the Service (create/manage accounts and households, sync content, send push notifications): Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Transactional communications (service updates, security, changes to terms): Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) and/or Contract.
- Analytics and product improvement (including approximate location for aggregate insights) and crash reporting: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Fraud prevention, security, compliance with law: Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) and Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)).
We do not send marketing communications and do not run third-party ads.
6. Push notifications and analytics choices
- Push notifications: opt-in via your device OS settings; you can turn notifications off at any time in device settings.
- Analytics/crash reporting: contact us if you want analytics limited for your account where feasible; you may also use OS privacy settings to limit certain identifiers.
7. Family groups and your sharing
Planily enables sharing within the family/household you choose to join. Items you create in a shared family (e.g., events, lists) are visible to other members of that family according to the app's feature design. We do not provide parental controls. What you share in your family group is your responsibility. You can leave a family or remove items you've created at any time, subject to retention and backups described below.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the Service if you are under 13. If you are 13–15, use requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian where required by local law.
9. Retention and deletion
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law.
Account and Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing planilyapps@gmail.com. Once we verify your identity, we will delete or anonymize your account, profile information, and associated content from our active systems within 30 days. We may retain certain information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as security, fraud prevention, or record‑keeping), which will be limited to what is necessary and access‑restricted. Some information may temporarily remain in backups, but will be removed in the normal course of backup rotation and will not be used for any other purpose. Deleting your account is permanent and will remove your access to the app and your data.
Data Retention Periods
- Account data: Kept while the account is active. If there is no activity for 24 months, we may contact you and then delete or anonymize your account after an additional grace period.
- Content data (events, lists): Available until you delete it or delete your account. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated content, except limited records we must retain for legal, security, or audit purposes.
- Logs and analytics data: Retained for up to 13 months, then deleted or aggregated.
- Backups: Rolling backups are typically retained 30–90 days; data may persist in backups until the backup cycle overwrites it.
- Push tokens: Rotated and removed when invalidated or after prolonged inactivity.
Data Export: You can email planilyapps@gmail.com to request an export of your data. We will respond without undue delay.
10. Sharing of personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers who act on our instructions:
- Hosting and database: Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore/Storage) – EU region
- Push notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics
- Crash reporting: Firebase Crashlytics
Providers are bound by contracts to process data only on our behalf and to implement appropriate security. We may also disclose data if required by law, to defend our rights, prevent abuse, or respond to lawful requests.
11. International transfers
We store your data in the EU and do not intentionally transfer personal data outside the EEA/UK. If a transfer becomes necessary (for example, due to a sub-processor change), we will use lawful transfer mechanisms such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and will update this policy.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Role-based access and least-privilege controls
- MFA for administrator access, audit logging, and periodic access reviews
- Secure development and vulnerability management practices
- Resilient backups and disaster recovery procedures
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
13. Your rights (EEA/UK)
Subject to law, you have the right to request: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection (including to processing based on legitimate interests), and portability. You also have the right to withdraw consent where consent is our legal basis (we do not rely on consent for marketing). You can lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

14. Cookies and website
Our current offering is mobile apps (iOS/Android). We do not use website cookies beyond strictly necessary operation. If a public website or PWA is introduced in the future with analytics or non-essential cookies, we will present a consent banner and update this section.
15. Communications
We may send you essential service communications (e.g., security, changes to terms). We do not send marketing communications.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version in the app and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by email where appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
